The position:

As a Technical Manager, you are responsible for the substantive design, testing, and optimization of complex technical solutions that contribute to a safe, reliable, and future-proof high-voltage grid. You work primarily on new onshore high-voltage substations or connections at voltage levels of 380 kV, 220 kV, 150 kV, or 110 kV. 

You are the driving force behind the technical design of our new construction projects. You are part of the core project team. Together with your engineering team, you draw up basic designs and requirements specifications, coordinate and plan the execution of engineering work for your projects, collaborate with our contractors, and check the engineering products to be delivered by them.

From concept to realization, you are responsible for:

• Design: You are ultimately responsible for the technical design, from the initial concept phase through to the detailed and execution design.
• Leadership: You manage a team of specialist engineers and ensure optimal collaboration between all disciplines.
• Collaboration: You work closely with colleagues from various disciplines, business units, and contractors to make our projects a success.

What are you bringing?

Knowledge and experience:

• Completed Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technical field (preferably energy technology or electrical engineering);
• At least five years of experience as an engineer in the energy or infrastructure sector;
• Demonstrable experience in functionally managing a technical team on complex multidisciplinary projects;
• Experience working with external stakeholders, such as contractors; 
• Familiarity with UAV and UAV-GC contracts is an advantage;
• You have a professional level of proficiency in Dutch and English;
• Driving license B;
