Communications Specialist & Thought Leader (ESG)

As a Communications Specialist your primary responsibilities are:

  • ESG communications: responsibility for driving all communication activities related to our ESG agenda, including end-to-end responsibility for the project management and the copywriting of the Annual ESG Report;
  • Thought leadership: develop and drive thought leadership materials such as whitepapers, webinars, or podcasts in joint collaboration with our experts for instance in our private markets, liquid markets, multi-alternatives, or research teams; support in copywriting and/or proof reading of flagship materials such as the Annual Outlook, and take full accountability for end-to-end production;
  • Media relations and social media: develop and implement media and social media strategies for key content materials, as well as the successful positioning of our internal experts in international media; build and maintain a network to key journalists; eventually take over responsibility for country-specific campaigns;
  • Internal communications: further build out the internal communications franchise across the Group through establishing new platforms and tools; be the communications advisor for internal functions such as HR or COO, and represent Corporate Communications on internal platforms such as the Employee Volunteering Program; speechwriting for internal management representatives upon request;
  • Competitor insights: support the team in gaining and structuring competitor insights, and rolling out and implementing a successful media and social media monitoring;
  • General: support the Marketing and Communications teams in daily business wherever need be, including at top-tier events such as the Annual Investment Conference; steer and leverage a network of international PR agencies and freelancers.

Requirements

  • University degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or a related field;
  • At least 8 years of professional experience in Corporate Communications, ideally in the financial industry;
  • Background/professional experience in journalism highly beneficial;
  • ESG competence and experience essential;
  • English native speaker; good command of German;
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written);
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently; naturally taking ownership and showing accountability; hands-on mentality and pragmatic personality;
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines;
  • Both strategic and tactical mind-set, meticulous attention to detail;
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills in a complex matrix environment;
  • Professional use of MS Office and other tools;
  • Experience in social media marketing highly preferred.
