Digital Workplace Team Lead

Job description

As Team Leader, you'll play a crucial role in developing employees and strengthening our organization. You'll be responsible for approximately 25 IT professionals who work on services such as Digital Workplace, Digital Collaboration, and End-User Support. These professionals are part of multidisciplinary teams within the IT department.

In this role, you'll ensure motivated, technically skilled employees and a professional culture focused on collaboration and growth. Scrum Masters and Product Owners will oversee the content; your core responsibility will be to guide personal and professional development, create an inspiring work environment, and ensure strategic employee development.

What do you bring as a Team Leader?

In this role, we're looking for a team leader with strong HR and leadership skills. You have demonstrable experience guiding IT teams in transition, preferably working towards Agile. You're able to persuade colleagues, engage with change, and truly connect with teams that are highly diverse both in age (25–60) and seniority. It's important to us that employees recognize your leadership and are willing to follow your lead.

You're also results-oriented. A developing organization needs not only good guidance but also clear direction based on concrete goals. Therefore, we expect your resume to reflect you:

  • have experience in achieving measurable improvements or change objectives;
  • successfully introduced teams to new working methods (such as Agile or DevOps);
  • knows how to develop a team, both on a human and professional level;
  • achieve results while safeguarding the human side of change.

This is what you will do

You're the link between strategy, team development, and operational execution. You ensure a healthy balance between workload, quality, and personal growth. In concrete terms, this means:

Personnel development and coachingConducting introductory, performance and assessment interviews.

  • Guiding employees in their careers and personal development.
  • Actively deploy strategic workforce planning and competency development.

Leadership and culture

  • Coaching leadership of approximately 25 IT employees, hierarchically and in terms of performance.
  • Creating and safeguarding a professional, results-oriented culture in which collaboration is central.
  • Conduct GAP analyses on leadership competencies and translate them into concrete improvement actions.
  • Stimulating an agile mindset and optimising Scrum teams.

Organization and strategy

  • Translate organizational goals into clear team objectives.
  • Monitor IT strategy and align it with broader business objectives.
  • Participate in discussions about transitions and further professionalization of the department.

Operational responsibility

  • Planning and organizing the deployment of people and resources.
  • Managing budgets (rewards, training, etc.) and capacity planning.
  • Facilitate training and knowledge development within the team.

Change management

  • Actively contribute to transitions, reorganizations and cultural changes.
  • Developing and implementing professionalization plans.
  • Work intensively with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to strengthen Agile working methods.

What we ask of you (Please substantiate this in your CV and motivation)

  •  At least 8 years of experience in a similar managerial role, preferably in IT teams in transition.
  •  Demonstrable affinity with ICT and experience with change management.
  •  Excellent coaching skills and proven success in team development.
  •  Completed higher professional education.
  •  Strong communication skills, connecting and organizationally sensitive.
  •  Fluent Dutch in speech and writing.

Duration of the assignment: 12 months

Location: Deventer (2 days), Enschede (1 day) and Hybrid (1 day)
